“frizzy” hair is just curly / wavy hair that needs some tlc 🫶🏼 📣 frizz is by no means a bad thing, but for me, there’s functional frizz (the frizz that is inevitable and/or gives me some volume) and excessive frizz (frizz that hides my curls) 📣 key reasons for frizz - not using curly hair products, especially moisturising products like deep conditioning treatments, curl creams etc! - if your hair is bleach / heat damaged then this can also result in a lot of frizz save to try this beginners routine (I’ve created this to be budget friendly + effective for reviving curls)👇🏻 💖 1: start by clarifying your hair. a clarifying shampoo is stronger than a normal shampoo and will remove product buildup from your scalp! It’s best to start your routine afresh! 🫧 💸 a budget friendly clarifying shampoo: sogooditsnoughty detox dynamo shampoo 💖 2: then condition your hair, avoid your roots when applying as this can result in weighed down curls. your scalp releases natural oils and therefore, typically gets less dry than the rest of your hair 💸 a budget friendly conditioner: umbertogiannini banana butter conditioner 🍌 💖 3: if your hair feels excessively dry / damaged then apply a deep conditioning treatment / hair mask to your hair 💸 a budget friendly deep conditioner: sogooditsnoughty deep hydration treatment 💖 4: to style, first apply a heat protectant to avoid damage whilst diffusing 💸 a budget friendly heat protectant: imbuecurls heat protection spray 💖 5: to style, apply a leave-in or curl cream to restore some moisture into your curls + to keep them hydrated. scrunch / rake this through your hair 💸 a budget friendly curl cream (a little more pricey but worth it): onlycurlslondon curl creme 🥇 💖 6: to finish, apply a gel. this will lock your curls into place and helps reduce frizz 💸 a budget friendly gel: umbertogiannini curl jelly 💖 7: then diffuse (or air dry) your curls until dry.
